Carpet Cleaning

What we offer:

We offer deep carpet cleaning using a hot water extraction process, designed to lift dirt, dust and everyday stains from carpet fibres while leaving carpets fresher and cleaner.

This service is ideal for:

  • End of tenancy cleaning
  • Offices
  • Rental properties
  • Homes
  • Refreshing high-traffic areas

Our carpet cleaning can:

  • Remove embedded dirt and dust
  • Improve the appearance of most stains
  • Reduce odours
  • Refresh carpet fibres

Please note that some stains cannot be completely removed, particularly if they are old, have previously been treated, or have permanently discoloured the carpet. In these cases, we will always aim to achieve the best possible improvement.

We also wanted to create opportunities for professional cleaners to do what they do best in a supportive and respectful environment.
As a small, independent company, we bring a personal touch to everything we do — every client matters, and we’ll always take the time to speak with you directly and understand your needs.

Excellent customer service is at the heart of our values. We’re committed to being approachable, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile.

Carpet Cleaning Methods: Which Type Is Right for Your Carpet?

There isn’t one carpet-cleaning method that is best for every carpet. Different methods use different combinations of water, heat, cleaning chemicals, agitation and extraction, and the most suitable option depends on the carpet fibre, construction, level of soiling, staining and how quickly the carpet needs to be ready for use.

The main professional carpet-cleaning methods include hot water extraction, dry compound cleaning, encapsulation, bonnet cleaning and carpet shampooing.

1. Hot Water Extraction

Often referred to as steam cleaning, although the process is more accurately described as hot water extraction.

A cleaning solution is applied to the carpet and worked into the fibres. Hot water is then injected into the carpet under pressure, loosening dirt and soiling before being extracted back out using a powerful vacuum.

Best suited to:

  • Deep cleaning
  • Heavily soiled carpets
  • End-of-tenancy cleaning
  • Homes and rental properties
  • Offices and commercial premises
  • Carpets requiring a thorough refresh

Advantages:

  • Provides a deep clean
  • Removes dirt from within the carpet rather than only the surface
  • Can be combined with targeted stain treatment
  • Helps refresh heavily trafficked areas

Considerations:
Because water is used, the carpet requires drying time. Drying depends on the carpet, amount of moisture used, ventilation, temperature and humidity.

2. Dry Carpet Cleaning / Dry Compound Cleaning

Dry cleaning uses an absorbent cleaning compound or powder that is worked into the carpet fibres. The compound attracts and absorbs dirt before being removed with a vacuum.

Because significantly less moisture is introduced than with traditional wet cleaning, drying times can be much shorter.

Best suited to:

  • Delicate carpets where low moisture is preferred
  • Commercial premises requiring minimal disruption
  • Situations where the carpet needs to be used quickly
  • Routine maintenance cleaning

Advantages:

  • Very little drying time
  • Minimal disruption
  • Useful where introducing large amounts of moisture isn’t appropriate

Considerations:
It may not provide the same level of deep extraction as hot water extraction on heavily soiled carpets.

3. Encapsulation Cleaning

Encapsulation is a low-moisture cleaning method commonly used for commercial carpet maintenance.

A specialised cleaning solution is applied to the carpet and agitated into the fibres. As it dries, the solution forms microscopic crystals around the dirt. These crystals can then be removed through subsequent vacuuming.

Best suited to:

  • Offices
  • Commercial buildings
  • Hotels
  • High-traffic areas
  • Regular carpet maintenance

Advantages:

  • Low moisture
  • Relatively quick drying
  • Suitable for regular maintenance programmes
  • Allows carpets to return to use relatively quickly

Considerations:
It is generally more suited to routine maintenance than carpets requiring extensive restoration or heavy soil removal.

4. Bonnet Cleaning

Bonnet cleaning is another method commonly used in commercial environments.

A rotary floor machine works a cleaning solution into the carpet using an absorbent bonnet or pad. The rotating action helps loosen and absorb surface-level dirt.

Best suited to:

  • Commercial carpets
  • High-traffic areas
  • Regular maintenance
  • Situations requiring a relatively quick turnaround

Advantages:

  • Fast
  • Relatively low moisture
  • Useful for maintaining commercial carpets

Considerations:
Bonnet cleaning primarily focuses on the upper portion of the carpet fibres. It isn’t normally considered a substitute for a deep extraction clean where significant soil has accumulated deeper within the carpet.

5. Carpet Shampooing

Carpet shampooing uses a dedicated carpet-cleaning solution which is agitated into the carpet, often using brushes or mechanical agitation, to loosen dirt and staining.

The resulting solution and loosened soil then need to be removed appropriately.

Best suited to:

  • Heavily soiled carpets
  • General carpet refreshing
  • Certain types of staining

Advantages:

  • Strong mechanical cleaning action
  • Can be effective on heavily soiled carpets
  • Useful as part of certain carpet-cleaning systems

Considerations:
Shampooing can introduce more moisture and cleaning product into the carpet, meaning appropriate extraction and drying are important to minimise residue.

So Which Carpet Cleaning Method Should You Choose?

It depends on what you’re trying to achieve.

SituationMethods that may be suitable
Heavily soiled carpetHot water extraction
End-of-tenancy cleanHot water extraction
General carpet refreshHot water extraction / shampooing
Regular commercial maintenanceEncapsulation / bonnet cleaning
Very quick turnaroundDry compound / low-moisture methods
Delicate carpetDry or low-moisture methods, subject to assessment
Localised stainingAppropriate stain treatment alongside the main cleaning method
High-traffic commercial areasEncapsulation / bonnet / extraction depending on condition

There isn’t a universal “best” method. A professional cleaner should consider the carpet’s fibre and construction, manufacturer’s recommendations, level of soiling and the circumstances of the property before selecting a method.

What About Stain Removal?

Carpet cleaning and stain removal aren’t necessarily the same thing.

A general carpet clean removes dirt and general soiling across the carpet. Stain treatment involves identifying and treating particular substances or marks, such as food, drinks, mud or other spills.

Some stains respond very well to professional treatment, while others can be difficult or impossible to completely remove.

Older stains, permanent dye changes, bleach damage, paint, rust, ink and stains that have chemically altered the carpet may only be improved rather than completely removed.

A professional should therefore avoid guaranteeing that every stain will disappear before assessing it.

What Carpet Cleaning Does CleanRight Solutions Provide?

CleanRight Solutions currently offers deep carpet cleaning using hot water extraction.

Our service is suitable for many domestic and commercial carpets and can be provided as a standalone carpet clean or alongside other cleaning services.

It is particularly suitable for:

  • End-of-tenancy cleaning
  • Rental properties
  • Offices
  • Commercial premises
  • Community buildings
  • High-traffic areas
  • General carpet refreshes

Where appropriate, we can also carry out targeted treatment of individual stains as part of the cleaning process.

We assess the carpet and its condition before cleaning and aim to achieve the best practical result. However, we do not promise complete removal of stains where the staining may be permanent or where the carpet itself has been damaged or discoloured.
